QD50 General Description


The QD50 is designed as multi-element detectors of quadrant detectors type. Cenronic quadrants are made to exacting standards in excess of most commercial requirements (and are currently being supplied for NATO systems e.g. NATO stock no. 51961 / 99 / 038 / 1228). Full molitary specification diodes are readily available using centronic's extensive optical and environmental testing facilities which have full military approval to defence standard (UK) 05-21. Centronic expertise covers the whole range of technology from silicon slice preparations and "in-house" package manufacture, to military approved test and calibration facilities. Centronic specialise in custom manufacturing commercial and military quadrant detectors. Among the devices manufactured are a QD320-4 sealed in a special lightweight package and an eight sector multiple quadrant of 38mm diameter.

Some general data have been concluded into several points as follow. The first is about its typical crosstalk which would be 0.5%. The second is about its typical uniformity (over centre 6mm) would be ±2.0%. The third one is about its typical uniform (over full detector) which would be ±5.0%. The fourth one is about its its typical relative response at 35° incident angle would be -2.0%. The fifth one is about its typical relative response at 60° incident angle would be -15.0%.

Also there are some specifications having been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its its nom active area would be 50 mm2. The second is about its its dia. active area would be 8mm. The third one is about its separation (metallurgical) would be 0.2mm. The fourth one is about its typical dark current per element would be 100nA. The fifth one is about its typical NEP (noise equivalent power) would be 900nm at wave length and would be 3.3 x 10^-13W/Hz. The sixth one is about its package would be 15.
