R68560A

The R68560A is designed as muiti-protocol communications controller (MPCC) which interfaces a single serial communications channel to a 68008/68000 microcomputer-based system using ether asynchronous or synchronous protocol.
The R68560A has many features. The first one is full duplex synchronous/asynchronous receiver and transmitter. The second one is implement IBM binary synchronous communications (BSC) in two coding formats: ASCII and EBCDIC. The third one is supports other synchronous character-oriented protocols (COP), such as six-bit BSC, X3.28K, ISO IS1745, ECMA-16, etc. The fourth one is asynchronous and isochronous modes. The fifth one is modem handshake interface. The sixth one is high speed serial data rate (DC to 4MHz). The seventh one is internal oscillator and baud rate generator with programmable rate. The eighth one is crystal or TTL level clock input and buffered clock output (8MHz). The ninth one is direct interface to 68008/68000 asynchronous bus. The tenth one is 22 directly addressable registers for flexible option selection complete status reporting, and data transfer. And so on. That are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of R68560A have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its supply voltage which would be from -0.3V to +7.0V. The second one is about its input voltage which would be from -0.3V to +7.0V. The third one is about its operating temperature range which would be from 0°C to +70°C. The fourth one is about its storage temperature range which would be from -55°C to +150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed under absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to the device.
