Description

The RD6610A is a kind of 2048-sample analog delay line. It accepts an arbitary analog voltage signal (with certain voltage swing and bandwidth limits) and outputs the same signal delayed in time. The amount of delay can be fixed or variable and depends on the clock frequency applied. The RD6610A is similar to RD5106A/RD5107A and RD5108A in configuration and use but improves a lot in signal-to-noise ratio and bandwidth. The RD6610A is designed for audio signal processing and many industrial applications. It is fabricated with n-buried-channel CCD technology and available in an 8-pin DIP.

There are some features of RD6610A as follows: (1)2048 samples of delay; (2)on-chip clock phase driver requires only a single TTL or CMOS clock input; (3)from 4.1 msec to 205 msec of delay; (4)for delay shorter than 34 msec, bandwidth is greater than 20 kHz; (5)buried n-channel CCD technology for low noise; (6)on-chip sample-hold output buffer; (7)bandwidths up to 170 kHz; (8)sample frequencies from 10 kHz to 500 kHz; (9)wide dynamic range: S/N>75 dB; (10)less than 1% distortion for 1 Vp-p signal; (11)single 15 V power supply. The typical applications include: (1)audio effects: reverberation, chorus, flange, vibrate, tremolo; (2)time compression or expansion of analog signals such as speech; (3)voice control of tape recorders; (4)voice scrambling systems; (5)syntetic stereo effects; (6)storage of multilevel digital signals.

The following is about the absolute maximum ratings of RD6610A: (1)input voltage-any terminal with respect to substrate): -0.2 V min; (2)output short-circuit duration-any terminal: indefinite; (3)operating temperature: 0 to 70; (4)storage temperature: -55 to 125; (5)lead temperature (soldering, 10 sec): 300.
