The RT9231 is designed as a 4-in-one power controller optimized for high-performance microprocessor and computer applications. This IC integrates a PWM controller, triple linear controller as well as monitoring and protection functions into a 28-pin SOP package. The PWM controller regulates the microprocessor core voltage with a synchronous buck converter.
RT9231 has many features. (1)4-in-one regulated voltages for microprocessor core, AGP bus, north/south bridge and/or cache memory, GTL bus power. (2)Compatible with HIP6021. (3)Power-good output voltage monitor. (4)5-bit DAC programmable from 1.3V to 3.5V. (5)+/-1% DAC accuracy. (6)Fast transient response. (7)Full 0% to 100% duty cycle driver. (8)Switching frequency from 50kHz to 500kHz. (9)Adaptive non-overlapping gate driver. (10)Over-current monitor uses MOSFET Rds(on). (11)Over-voltage protection uses lower MOSFET. And so on.

FAULT/RT and GATE voltage would be from GND-0.3V to Vcc+0.3V. (3)Its input, output or I/O voltage would be from GND-0.3V to 7V. (4)Its ambient temperature range would be from 0°C to 70°C. (5)Its junction temperature range would be from 0°C to 125°C. (6)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (7)Its lead temperature soldering 10 seconds would be 300°C. (8)Its thermal impedance junction to ambient would be 75°C/W. (9)Its thermal impedance junction to case would be 25°C/W. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
