S-3530A

The S-3530A is designed as a CMOS real-time clock IC supporting an 12C-BUS, which is designed to transfer or set each data of a clock and calender as requested by a CPU. S-3530A provides connection with a CPU via two wires and has two systems of an interrupt/alarm feature, allowing the alleviation of software treatment on the side of a host.

S-3530A has twelve features. (1)Low power consumption. (2)Wide area of operating voltage 1.7V to 5.5V. (3)BCD input/output of years, month, day of a week, hour, minute and second. (4)CPU interface via two wires (I2C-BUS). (5)Auto calender till the year of 2099 (automatic leap year arithmetic feature included). (6)Built-in power voltage detecting circuit. (7)Built-in constant voltage circuit. (8)Built-in flag generating circuit on power on/off. (9)Built-in alarm interrupter (two systems). (10)Steady-state interrupt frequency/duty setting feature. (11)Built-in 32KHz crystal oscillating circuit (internal Cd, external Cg). (12)8-pin SSOP package (terminal pitch: 0.65mm). Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of S-3530A have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its power voltage would be from -0.3V to 6.5V. (2)Its input voltage would be from -0.3V to 6.5V. (3)Its output voltage would be from -0.3V to 6.5V. (4)Its operating temperature range would be from -40°C to 85°C. (5)Its retention temperature range would be from -55°C to 125°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of S-3530A are concluded as follow. (1)Its range of operating voltage would be min 1.7V and typ 3.0V and max 5.5V. (2)Its drain current 1 would be typ 0.7V and max 1.5V. (3)Its drain current 2 would be typ 12uA and max 20uA. And so on.
