S-4544A

The S-4544A is designed as a 17- or 33-common, 128-segment output graphic (bit map) LCD controller-driver with built-in 8-bit and serial interfaces. The internal 65x128 bit display data RAM can directly access the 8-bit and the serial data bus, making the display of both graphics and characters possible.

S-4544A has many features. (1)Interface is 8-bit 80/68-family microcomputer interface serial interface. (2)Driver output is 28 segments and 17 commons: command setting and 33 commons: default. (3)Display data RAM is 65x128 bits. (4)Display clock: both built-in CR oscillating circuit and external clock input are available. Oscillating frequency is 18KHz. (5)Duty cycle is 1/17 command setting and 1/33 default. (6)LCD bias resistor is internal 1/6.7: deafult and internal 1/5: command setting and internal 1/4 command setting and external 1/2 to 1/4. (7)Voltage range logic is -2.4V to -5.5V and LCD drive is -2.7V to -11V. (8)Delivered on gold bumps (bare chips) TCP. And so on.

Some absolute maximum ratings of S-4544A have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be from -6.0V to 0.4V. (2)Its LCD drive voltage 1 would be from -13.5V to 0.4V. (3)Its LCD drive voltage 2 would be from V5 to 0.4V. (4)Its input voltage would be from Vss-0.4V to 0.4V. (5)Its output voltage would be from Vss-0.4V to 0.4V. (6)Its operating temperature range would be from -30°C to 85°C. (7)Its storage temperaure range would be from -55°C to 125°C for chip and would be -55°C to 100°C for TAB. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of S-4544A are concluded as follow. (1)Its operating voltage would be min -5.5V to -2.4V. (2)Its LCD drive voltage would be min -11V and max -2.7V for V5 and would be min V5 and max Vdd for V1, V2, V3, V4. (3)Its input leakage current would be min -1.0uA and max 1.0uA.
