The S-8241 is a series of lithium-ion/lithium polymer rechargable battery protection ICs incorporating high-accuracy voltage detection circuits and delay circuits.These S-8241 ICs are suitable for protection of single-cell lithium ion/lithium polymer battery packs from overcharge, overdischarge and overcurrent.

S-8241 has many unique features: the first one is internal high-accuracy voltage detection circuit.The second one is either the 0 V battery charging function or 0 V battery charge inhibiting function can be selected. The third one is versions with adn without a power-down feature can be selected. The forth one is low current consumption. The fifth one is wide operating temperature range is -40 to +85.Small package,etc. Besides, it also has two applications: the first one is lithium-ion rechargable battery packs. The second one is lithium-polymer rechargable battery packs.There are some absolute maximum ratings about it.Input voltage between VDD and VSS (VDS) is Vss-0.3 V to Vss+12 V (applicable in VDD). VM input pin voltage(Vvm) is VDD-26 V to VDD+0.3 V.DO output pin voltage(VDO) is Vss-0.3 V to VDD+0.3 V. CO output pin voltage(VCO) is Vm-0.3 V to VDD+0.3 V.
