The S3901-256F is designed as one kind of NMOS linear image sensors whcih is self-scanning photodiode arrays specifically as detectors for multichannel spectroscopy. Ths scanning circuit is made up of N-channel MOS transistors, operates at power consumption and is easy to handle. Each photodiode of S3901-256F has a large active area, high sensitivity yet very low noise, delivering a high S/N even at low light levels.

S3901-256F has five features. (1)Wide active area: pixel pitch 50um and pixel height 2.5mm. (2)Low dark current and high saturation charge allow a long integration time and a wide dynamic range at room temperature. (3)Excellent output linearity and sensitivity spatial uniformity. (4)Lower power consumption 1mW max. (5)Start pulse and clock pulses are CMOS logic compatible. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of S3901-256F have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its input pulse voltage would be 15V. (2)Its power consumption would be 1mW. (3)Its operating temperature range would be from -40°C to 65°C. (4)Its storage temperature range would be from -40°C to 85°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
