The SC1117 is designed as high performance positive voltage regulator which is for use in applications requiring low dropout performance at full rated current. Additionally, it provides excellent regulation over variations in line, load and temperaure. Applications include low voltage microcontrollers, switching power supply post-regulator.
SC1117 has ten features. (1)Vin 15V max. (2)Low dropout performance 1.3V max. (3)Full current rating over line and temperature. (4)Fast transient response. (5)+/-2% total output regulation over line, load and temperature. (6)Adjust pin current max 120uA over temperature. (7)Fixed/adjustable output voltage. (8)Line regulation 0.2% max. (9)Load regulation 0.4% max. (10)SOT-223 and TO-263 packages. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of SC1117 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its input voltage would be 15V. (2)Its power dissipation is internally limited. (3)Thermal resistance junction to case would be 15°C/W for SOT-223 package and would be 3°C/W for TO-263. (4)Its thermal resistance junction to ambient would be 150°C/W for SOT-223 and would be 60°C/W for TO-263. (5)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (6)Its lead temperature soldering 10 seconds would be 260°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of SC1117 are concluded as follow. (1)Its output voltage (fixed voltage versions) would be min 0.99Vo and typ Vo and max 1.01Vo.
