SC1189

The SC1189 is designed as one kind of programmable synchronous DC/DC converters and dual LDO controllers. It combines a synchronous voltage mode controller with two low-dropout linear regulators providing most of the circuitry necessary to implement three DC/DC converters for powering advanced microprocessors such as pentium III.

It has ten features. (1)Synchronous design, enables no heatsink solution. (2)95% efficiency (switching section). (3)5 bit DAC for output programmability. (4)Designed for intel pentium III requirements. (5)1.25V, 2.5V short circuit protected linear controllers. (6)Linear controllers adjustable to 1.8V chipset. (7)VRM 8.5 compliant. (8)VRM 8.4 compliant (1.3V to 1.8V). (9)1.0% accuracy (1.6V to 1.8V). (10)On chip power good signal. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its Vcc to GND would be from -0.3V to 7V. (2)Its PGNDH, PGNDL to AGND would be +/-1V. (3)Its BSTH to PGNDH, BSTL to PGNDL would be from -0.3V to 15V. (4)Its DH to PGNDH, DL to PGNDL would be from -1V to 15V. (5)Its operating temperature range would be from 0°C to 70°C. (6)Its junction temperature range would be from 0°C to 125°C. (7)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (8)Its lead temperature soldering 10 seconds would be 300°C. (9)Its thermal resistance junction to ambient would be 80°C/W. (10)Its thermal impedance junction to case would be 25°C/W. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics are concluded as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be min 4.5V and max 7V. (2)Its supply current would be typ 8mA and max 15mA. (3)Its load regulation would be typ 1%. (4)Its line regulation would be typ 0.5%. (5)Its current limit voltage would be min 55mV and typ 70mV and max 85mV.
