SL5066

The SL5066 is a kind of video up converter. It is capable of operating at frequencies up to 900 MHz. It is compatible with PAL and NTSC, accepting baseband video and sound inputs and modulating up to any desired VHF or UHF channel. The typical applications include video recorders, cable systems, video cameras, personal computers, video security systems and in home rebroadcast system (LPTV). It is not suitable for use in SECAM applications.

There are some SL5066 features as follows: (1)symmetrical RF oscillator operating to 900 MHz; (2)symmetrical RF drive to a frequency synthesiser; (3)video signal input clamp ; (4)video peak white level detection and automatic gain control; (5)control of video modulation index; (6)direct drive into 75 Ohms, via symmetrical outputs; (7)picture carrier to sound carrier ratio adjustment; (8)low external component count; (9) 5 V operation.

The following is about the SL5066 electrical characteristics at Tamb=-10 to +80, VCC=4.5 to 5.5 V: (1)supply voltage at pin 11, 19: 4.5 V min and 5.5 V max; (2)supply current at pin 11, 19: 51 mA typ; (3)video input at pin 4: 0.5 V p-p min, 1.0 V p-p typ and 1.5 V p-p max; (4)sound drift with supply at pin 15, 16: 2.5 kHz at VCC=4.5 to 5.5 V; (5)audio input impedance at pin 17: 25 k typ; (6)audio input voltage reference at pin 17: 2 V typ; (7)audio input level at pin 17: 2 V p-p max.
