SM5803AP

The SM5803AP is a multi-function digital filter for digital audio fabricated using NPC's original molybdenum-gate CMOS technology. This LSI uses a variety of functions including 4-times/8-times oversampling, digital de-emphasis, digital attenuator, fitter-free mechanism and soft mute.The 1/O interface allows 16- or 18-bit input data and 16-,18- or 20-bit output data, so a wide range of system configurations can be realized.

Features of the SM5803AP are:(1)noise shaper (can be turned on or off) reduction of requantization noise component in the audio band; (2)soft mute:smooth changes of attenuation level; (3)digital attenuation; (4)high-precision operation by 25-bit accumulator; (5)digital attenuation; (6)built-in overflow limiter; (7)built-in quartz oscillator circuitry.The IIR achieves aimvst ideal gain and phase characteristics, so there is no distortion and variativn due to component parameters. The primary objective of de-emphasis is to reduce quantizativn noise in the high-frequency band and widen the dynamic range.  However, de-emphasis in the digital stage narrows the dynamic range.
