The SN54246 can be used interchangeably in present or future designs to offer designers a choice between two indicator fonts.The SN54246 features active-low outputs designed for driving indicators directly.Segment identification and resultant displays are shown below.Display patterns for BCD input counts above 9 are unique symbols to authenticate input conditions.

Features of the SN54246 are:(1)open-collector outputs drive indicators directly ; (2)lamp-test provision; (3)leading/trailing zero suppression; (4)internal pull-ups eliminate need for external resistors; (5)lamp-test provision; (6)leading/trailing zero suppression; (7)all circuit types feature lamp intensity modulation capability.
