The SN74BCT956 is designed as octal bus transceiver and latch which consists of bus transceiver circuits, D-type latches, and control circuitry arranged for multiplexed transmission of data directly from the input bus or from the internal latches.

SN74BCT956 has six features. (1)State-of-the-art BiCMOS design significantly reduces ICCZ. (2)ESD protection exceeds 2000V per MIL-STD-883C, method 3015; exceeds 200V using machine model (C=200pF, R=0). (3)Latch version of the 4BCT646. (4)Independent latches and enables for A and B buses. (5)Multiplexed real-time and stored data. (6)Package options include plastic small-outline (DW) packages and standard plastic 300-mil DIPs (NT). Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings SN74BCT956 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage range would be from -0.5V to 7V. (2)Its input voltage range (except I/O ports) would be from -0.5V to 7V. (3)Its voltage range applied to any output in the disabled or power-off state would be from -0.5V to 5.5V. (4)Its voltage range applied to any output in the high state would be from -0.5V to Vcc. (5)Its input clamp current (Vi<0) would be -30mA. (6)Its current into any output in the low state would be 128mA. (7)Its operating free-air temperature range would be from 0°C to 70°C. (8)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
