Description

The SN74LS283N is designed as one kind of high-speed 4-Bit Binary Full Adder with internal carry lookahead that accepts two 4-bit binary words (A1A4, B1B4) and a Carry Input (C0). And this device generates the binary Sum outputs (R1R4) and the Carry Output (C4) from the most significant bit. The LS283 operates with either active HIGH or active LOW operands (positive or negative logic).

Features of the SN74LS283N are:(1)generates either odd or even parity for nine data lines; (2)typical data-to-output delay of only 33 ns; (3)cascadable for n-bits; (4)can be used to upgrade systems using MSI parity circuits; (5)typical power dissipation = 80 mW.

The absolute maximum ratings of the SN74LS283N can be summarized as:(1)input HIGH voltage: 2.0 V;(2)input LOW voltage: 0.8 V;(3)input clamp diode voltage: -0.65 to -1.5 V;(4)output HIGH voltage: 2.7 to 3.5 V;(5)output LOW voltage: 0.25 to 0.4 V or 0.35 to 0.5 V;(6)input LOW current: -0.4 mA;(7)short circuit current: 20 to 100 mA;(8)power supply current: 27 mA.
