DescriptionThe TPS40055PWPRG4 is designed as one member of the TPS4005 family which is a high-voltage, wide input (8 V to 40 V), synchronous, step-down controllers. This TPS4005 family offers design flexibility with a variety of user-programmable functions, including soft-start, UVLO, operating frequency, voltage feed-forward, high-side current limit, and loop compensation.
This TPS4005 family has ten features. (1) Operating input voltage is from 8V to 40V. (2) Input voltage feed-forward compensation. (3) <1% internal 0.7V reference. (4) Programmable fixed-frequency up to 1MHz voltage mode controller. (5) Internal gate drive outputs for high-side and synchronous N-channel MOSFETs. (6) 16-pin powerPAD package (JC = 2°C/W). (7) thermal shutdown. (8) externally synchronizable. (9) Programmable high-side sense short-circuit protection. (10) Programmable closed-loop soft-start. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of TPS4005 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its input voltage range would be from -0.3V to 6V for VFB, SS/SD, SYNC and would be -0.3V to 45V for VIN, SW and would be -2.5V for SW, transient < 50ns and would be -5.0V for SW, transient < 50ns, Vin<14V. (2) Its output voltage range would be from -0.3V to 6V for COMP, RT, SS/SD and 5mA for KFF. (3) Its output current is 200uA for RT. (4) Its maximum junction temperature would be 150°C. (5) Its operating junction temperature range is from -40°C to 125°C. (6) Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to +150°C. (7) Its lead temperature 1,6mm (1/16 inch) from case for 10 seconds would be 260°C.
