UDN6118A

The UDN6118A is designed as one member of the 6118 series which is vacuum fluorescent display driver. Consisting of eight npn darlington output stages and the associated common-emitter input stages, these drivers are designed to interface between low-level digital logic and vacuum fluorescent displays. Both devices are capable of driving the digits and/or segments of these displays and are designed to permit all outputs to be activated simultaneously. Pull-down resistors are incorporated into each output and no external components are required for most fluorescent display applications.

UDN6118A has six features. (1) Digit or segment drivers. (2) It has low input current. (3) Integral output pull-down resistors. (4) It has high output breakdown voltage. (5) Single or split supply operation. (6) Automotive capable. That are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of UDN6118A have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its supply voltage is 85V. (2) Its input voltage would be 20V. (3) Its output current would be -40mA. (4) Its operating temperature range would be from -20°C to +85°C. (5) Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to +150°C.

Also some electrical characteristics about UDN6118A. (1) Its output leakage current would be max 15A with condition of Vin=0.4V. (2) Its output OFF voltage would be max 1.0V with condition of Vin=0.4V. (3) Its output pull-down current would be min min 450uA and typ 650uA and max 1100uA with condition of input open and Vout=Vbb. (4) Its output ON voltage would be min 77V and typ 78V with condition of Vin=2.4V and Iout=-25mA. (5) Its input ON current would be typ 120uA and max 225uA at Vin=2.4V and would be typ 375uA and max 650uA at Vin=5.0V. (6) Its supply current would be typ 10uA and max 100uA for all inputs open and would be typ 6.0mA and max 9.0mA for all inputs = 2.4V. And so on.
