This powerful yet easy-to-program (only 33 single word instructions) CMOS microcontroller contains 1024x12 words of program memory and 41 bytes of user RAM and 4MHz maximum speed. This device includes 2 digital timers (8-bit TMR0 and a Watchdog timer), Power-On-Reset, and Programmable Code Protection. The rfPIC12C509AG has 6 I/O pins with 25mA source/sink per I/O, and is capable of In-Circuit Serial Programming?. The rfPIC12C509AG/509AF from Microchip Technology is a low-cost, high performance, 8-bit, fully static, EPROM-based CMOS microcontroller combined with a UHF ASK/FSK transmitter. It employs a RISC architecture with only 33 single word/single cycle instructions. All instructions are single cycle (1 ms) except for program branches which take two cycles. The 12-bit wide instructions are highly symmetrical resulting in 2:1 code compression over other 8-bit microcontrollers in its class. The easy to use and easy to remember nstruction set reduces development time significantly.
