PCM1715U General Description

The PCM1715 is a low cost, dual voltage outputCMOS digital-to-analog converter. Incorporated intothe PCM1715 is a unique multi-level 4th-order delta-sigma architecture that eliminates influence from in-put clock jitter and RF interferance resulting in trulysuperior performance.

The PCM1715 has individual channel attenuator andanalog output mode select function which is suitablefor CD-ROM application.

The on-chip digital filter of the PCM1715 has 62dBstop band attenuation and ±0.008dB ripple in the passband.

The PCM1715 can be used in a wide variety ofconsumer audio applications. Its low cost, small size,and single +5V operation make it ideal for portable,automotive, CD players, CD-I, CD-ROM, VIDEO-CD, tuners, music instruments, and other digital audioapplications.

PCM1716 General Description

The PCM1716 is designed for Mid to High gradeDigital Audio applications which achieve 96kHz sam-pling rates with 24-bit audio data. PCM1716 uses anewly developed, enhanced multi-level delta-sigmamodulator architecture that improves audio dynamicperformance and reduces jitter sensitivity in actualapplications.

The internal digital filter operates at 8x over samplingat a 96kHz sampling rate, with two kinds of roll-offperformances that can be selected: sharp roll-off, orslow roll-off, as required for specific applications.PCM1716 is suitable for Mid to High grade audioapplications such as CD, DVD-Audio, and MusicInstruments, since the device has superior audiodynamic performance, 24-bit resolution and 96kHzsampling.
