The STPS15LB-TR is designed as low DROP power schottky rectifier. Single schottky rectifier suited to switched mode power supplies and high frequency DC to DC converters. This device is especially intended for use as a rectifier at the secondary of 3.3V SMPS units.
It has four features. (1) Very low forward voltage drop for less power dissipation and reduced heatsink. (2) Optimized conduction / reverse losses trade-off which means the highest efficiency in the applications. (3) High power surface mount miniature package. (4) Avalanche capability specified. That are all the main features.
Also some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its repetitive peak reverse voltage would be 25V. (2) Its RMS forward current would be 7A. (3) Its average forward current would be 5A. (4) Its surge non repetitive forward current would be 75A. (5) Its repetitive peak reverse current would be 1A. (6) Its non repetitive peak reverse current would be 2A.. (7) Its repetitive peak avalanche power would be 3000W. (8) Its storage temperature range would be from -65 to +150°C. (9) Its maximum operating junction temperature would be 150°C. (10) Its dV/dt critical rate of rise of reverse voltage would be 10000 V/s. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some static electrical characteristics about it. (1) Its reverse leakage current would be max 330uA at 25°C and would be typ 55mA and max 115mA at 125°C. (2) Its forward voltage drop would be max 0.47V at 25°C, If=5A and typ 0.31V and max 0.35V at 125°C, If=5A and max 0.59V at 25°C, If=10A and typ 0.41V and max 0.50V at 125°C, If=10A. And so on.
