The TDA8012M is a sensitive PLL FM demodulator which is used for the second IF in satellite receivers. It provides Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and Automatic Frequency Control (AFC) outputs that can be used to optimize the level and frequency of the input signal. During the searching procedure, the AFC output provides a signal which is used for carrier detection.
It has many unique features: The first one is high input sensitivity. The second one is fully balanced two-pin Voltage Controlled Oscillator(VCO).The third one is low input impedance (50 W).The forth one is low impedance video baseband output.The fifth one is internal voltage stabilizer.The sixth one is keyed AFC or peak-to-peak AFC.The seventh one is carrier detector.The eighth one is AGC output.The ninth one is it is suitable for High Definition TV (HDTV).
There are some limiting values about it.supply voltage(VCC) is -0.3 V min and 6 V max.storage temperature(Tstg) is -55°C +150°C.Junction temperature(Tj) is 150°C max.Maximum short-circuit time (every pin to VCC or GND)(tsc) is 10 s max.operating ambient temperature(Tamb) is -10°C min and 80°C max.storage temperature(Tstg) is -55°C min and +150 °C max.junction temperature(Tj(max)) is 150 °C max.
