Avago Announced High-Resolution Absolute Optical Encoder

Avago Technologies, a worldwide designer and supplier of semiconductor products, recently released a high-resolution absolute optical encoder for high-performance servo and motor feedback applications.

With desirable accuracy for smooth motor drive performance, the AEAT-9000 ultra-precision absolute encoder is available in a modular package and can be mounted in space-constrained locations with various mounting requirements. This encoder is single-turn providing up to 17-bit resolution for precise angle measurement over a full rotation of 360 degrees. The device’s modular design is composed of a read head module and a high-precision code disc. With differential internal and external signal paths leveraged, the absolute encoder provides exceptional noise cancellation for system noise-immunity in industrial environments. Thus, it is suitable for servo motors, industrial and maritime valve control applications, high-precision test and measurement equipment, and factory automation equipment.

With 2-channel true differential Sine/Cosine outputs and A/B incremental analog outputs all with 2048 counts per rotation, the AEAT-9000 encoder delivers high-accuracy positioning. The multiple output formats provide flexibility to support absolute and incremental position information.
