The 24C02LM8 is designed as a 2048 bits of CMOS non-volatile electrically erasable memory. This device conform to all specifications in the Standard IIC 2-wire protocol and are designed to minimize device pin count, and simplify PC board layout requirements.

It has ten features. (1)Extended operating voltage 2.7V to 5.5V. (2)400 KHz clock frequency (F) at 2.7V to 5.5V. (3)200A active current typical and 10A standby current typical and 1A standby current typical (L) and 0.1A standby current typical (LZ). (4)IIC compatible interface which provides bi-directional data transfer protocol. (5)Schmitt trigger inputs. (6)Sixteen byte page write mode which minimizes total write time per byte. (7)Self timed write cycle which means typical write cycle time of 6ms. (8)Endurance: 1,000,000 data changes. (9)Data retention greater than 40 years. (10)Packages available: 8-pin DIP, 8-pin SO, and 8-pin TSSOP. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its ambient storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (2)Its all input or output voltage with respect to ground would be from 6.5V to -0.3V. (3)Its lead temperature soldering 10 seconds would be +300°C. (4)Its ESD rating would be 2000V min. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics are concluded as follow. (1)Its active power supply current would be typ 0.2mA and max 1.0mA. (2)Its standby current would be typ 10uA and max 50uA at Vcc=2.7V to 5.5V and would be typ 1uA and max 10uA at Vcc=2.7V to 5.5V (L) and would be typ 0.1uA and max 1uA at Vcc=2.7V to 4.5V (LZ). (3)Its input leakage current would be typ 0.1uA and max 1uA. (4)Its output leakage current would be typ 0.1uA and max 1uA. (5)Its input low voltage would be min -0.3V and max 0.3Vcc. (6)Its input high voltage would be min 0.7Vcc and max Vcc+0.5V. (7)Its output low voltage would be max 0.4V. And so on.
