The AD5206BRU10 is designed as one kind of digital potentiometers which provides four-/six-channel, 256 position digitally-controlled variable resistor (VR) devices. It performs the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer or variable resistor. Each channel contains a fixed resistor with a wiper contact that taps the fixed resistor value at a point determined by a digital code loaded into the SPI-compatible serial-input register. Applications include mechanical potentiometer replacement, instrumentation: gain, offset adjustment, programmable voltage-to-current conversion, programmable filters, delays, time constants and line impedance matching.
It has seven features. (1) It would have 256 position. (2) Multiple independently programmable channels 6 channels. (3) potentiometer replacement. (4) 10 kV, 50 kV, 100 kV. (5) 3-wire SPI-compatible serial data input. (6) +2.7V to +5.5V single supply; ±2.7V dual supply operation. (7) Power ON midscale preset. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its Vdd to GND would be from -0.3V to +7V. (2) Its Vss to GND would be from 0V to -7V. (3) Its Vdd to Vss would be +7V. (4) Its VA, VB, VW to GND would be Vss, Vdd. (5) Its Ax-Bx, Ax-Wx, Bx-Wx would be ±20mA. (5) Its digital input and output voltage to GND would be from 0V to +7V. (6) Its operating temperature range would be from -40°C to +85°C. (7) Its maximum junction temperature would be max +150°C. (8) Its storage temperature would be from -65°C to +150°C. (9) Its lead temperature (soldering, 10 sec) would be +300°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed under absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to the device.
Also some electrical characteristics about it. (1) Its resistor differential NL would be min -1LSB and typ ±1/4LSB and max +1LSB.
