Description

The AD7934BRUZ-6 is one member of the AD7934 series.The AD7934 is 10-bit, high speed, low power, successive approximation (SAR) ADC.The parts operate from a single 2.7 V to 5.25 V power supply and feature throughput rates to 1.5 MSPS. The parts contain a low noise, wide bandwidth, differential track-and-hold amplifier that can handle input frequencies up to 20 MHz.The AD7934 has an accurate on-chip 2.5 V reference that can be used as the reference source for the analog-to-digital conversion. Alternatively, this pin can be overdriven to provide an external reference.

Features of the AD7934BRUZ-6 are:(1)fast throughput rate: 1.5 MSPS; (2)specified for VDD of 2.7 V to 5.25 V; (3)4 analog input channels with a sequencer; (4)software configurable analog inputs; (5)no pipeline delays; (6)high speed parallel interface--word/byte modes; (7)full shutdown mode: 1 A max; (8)28 lead TSSOP package.These parts use advanced design techniques to achieve very low power dissipation at high throughput rates. They also feature flexible power management options. An on-chip control register allows the user to set up different operating conditions, including analog input range and configuration, output coding, power management, and channel sequencing.

The absolute maximum ratings of the AD7934BRUZ-6 can be summarized as:(1)VDD to AGND/DGND:-0.3 V to +7 V;(2)VDRIVE to AGND/DGND:-0.3 V to VDD +0.3 V;(3)analog input voltage to AGND:-0.3 V to VDD+0.3 V;(4)storage temperature range:-65 to +150;(5)operating temperature range:-40 to +85;(6)junction temperature:150.Stresses above those listed under Absolute Maximum Ratings may cause permanent damage to the device. Exposure to absolute maximum rating conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability.The AD7934 is tested using the CCIF standard where two input frequencies near the top end of the input bandwidth are used. In this case, the second-order terms are usually distanced in frequency from the original sine waves, while the third-order terms are usually at a frequency close to the input frequencies. As a result, the second- and third-order terms are specified separately. The calculation of the intermodulation distortion is as per the THD specification where it is the ratio of the rms sum of the individual distortion products to the rms amplitude of the sum of the fundamentals expressed in dBs.
