The AD9878BST is one member of the AD9878 family which is designed as the single-supply, cable modem/set-top box, mixed-signal front end, that can be used in cable and wireless modems, or cable set-top boxes. The 12-bit ADCs of this device provide excellent undersampling performance, allowing this device to typically deliver better than 10 ENOBs with IF inputs up to 70 MHz. The 12-bit IF ADCs can sample at rates up to 29 MHz, allowing them to process wideband signals.
Features of the AD9878BST are:(1)low cost 3.3 V CMOS MxFE for broadband applications; (2)DOCSIS, EURO-DOCSIS, DVB, DAVIC compliant; (3)232 MHz quadrature digital upconverter; (4)12-bit direct IF DAC ; (5)up to 65 MHz carrier frequency DDS; (6)programmable sampling clock rates; (7)analog Tx output level adjust; (8)dual 12-bit, 29 MSPS direct IF ADCs with video clamp input; (9)10-bit, 29 MSPS sampling ADC; (10)8-bit auxiliary DAC; (11)direct interface to AD832x family of PGA cable drivers.
The absolute maximum ratings of the AD9878BST can be summarized as:(1)power supply:3.9 V;(2)digital output current:5 mA;(3)digital inputs:-0.3 V to VDRVDD+0.3 V;(4)analog inputs:-0.3 V to VAVDD+0.3 V;(5)operating temperature:-40°C to +85°C;(6)maximum junction temperature:150°C;(7)storage temperature:-65°C to +150°C;(8)lead temperature (soldering, 10 sec):300°C.
