ADM8830ACP

The ADM8830ACP is designed as a charge pump regulator used for color thin film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal displays (LCDs). Using charge pump technology, ADM8830ACP can be used to generate three output voltages (+5.1V±2%, +15.3V, 10.2V) from a single 3V input supply. These outputs are then used to provide supplies for the LCD controller (5.1V) and the gate drives for the transistors in the panel (+15.3V and -10.2V).

ADM8830ACP has eight features. (1)3 Output voltages (+5.1V, +15.3V, -10.2V) from one 3V input supply. (2)Power efficiency optimized for use with TFT in mobile phones. (3)Low quiescent current. (4)Low shutdown current (less than 1A). (5)Fast transient response. (6)Shutdown function. (7)Power saving during blanking period. (8)Option to use external LDO. That are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of ADM8830ACP have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be from -0.3V to +4.0V. (2)Its input voltage to digital inputs would be from -0.3V to +4.0V. (3)Its output short circuit duration to GND would be 10 sec. (4)Its output voltage would be from -0.3V to +6V for +5.1V output and would be from -12V to +0.3V for -10.2V output and would be from -0.3V to +17V for +15.3V output. (5)Its operating temperature range would be from -40°C to +85°C. (6)Its power dissipation would be 3.55W. (7)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to +150°C . (8)Its ESD would be class I. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some characteristics of ADM8830ACP are concluded as follow. (1)Its input voltage would be min 2.6V and max 3.6V. (2)Its supply current would be typ 150uA and max 400uA for unloaded, scanning period and would be typ 70uA and max 140uA for unloaded, blanking period. (3)Its output voltage would be min 5.0V and typ 5.1V and max 5.2V. (4)Its output current would be typ 4mA and max 5mA for scanning period and would be typ 5mA and max 8mA for scanning period, Vcc>2.7V. And so on.
