BA4230AFS

The BA4230AFS is an AM/FM IF system IC that operates off a 1.5 V power supply.The FM circuit consists of a different IF amplifier,a double-balance quardrature detector and a weak input-signal IF mute circuit.The AM circuit consists of a local oscillator,a double-balanced mixer circuit,an IF amplifier,a detector circuit and an AGC circuit.The IC also has a built-in LED driver circuit for AM/FM tuning indication.It is designed for 1.5 V headphone HiFi stereo equipment.

There are some BA4230AFS features as follows.First is excellent low-voltage operating characteristics (0.9 V min,1.0 to 2.0 V recommended).The second is two system outputs to enable both upper and lower heterodyne AFC operation.Then is built-in FM muting to reduce noise between stations when tuning and noise when the input signal is weak.Next is quadrature circuit for FM demodulation.The fifth is provision for connection of a low-pass filter for AM operation.The sixth is switch between AM and FM bands by switching the DC power on and off.The seventh is one output for both AM and FM which allows connection to a MPX without switch.The eighth is built-in driver circuit for an AM/FM tuning indication for LED and forced monaural operation for weak FM signals is possible.At last,it is suitable for use with BA1362F 1.5 V FM stereo multiplexer. 

What comes next is about the BA4230AFS absolute maximum ratings (T_a=25).The V_CC (Max) (supply voltage) is 2.5 V.The P_d (power dissipation) is 600 mW.The T_opr (operating temperature range) is from -25 to 75.The T_stg (storage temperature range) is from -55 to +125.Then is about the recommended operating conditions (T_a=25).The minimum V_CC (supply voltage) is 1.0 V,the typical is 1.25 V and the maximum is 2.0 V.
