D7225GB

The D7225GB is designed as a software-programmable LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) controller/driver. It can be serially interfaced with the CPU in a microcomputer and can directly drive 2, 3, or 4-time division LCD. D7225GB contains a segment decoder which can generate specific segment patterns. In addition, it can be used to control on/off (blinking) operation of a display.

D7225GB has ten features. (1)Can directly drive LCD. (2)Programmable time-division multiplexing: static drive and divide-by-2, 3, or -4 time division multiplexing. (3)Number of digits displayed: 7-segment or 14-segment. (4)Bias method static 1/2, 1/3. (5)Segment decoder output, 7-segment: numeric characters 0 to 9, six symbols and 14-segment: 36 alphanumeric characters, 13 symbols. (6)Blinking operation. (7)Multi-chip configuration possible. (8)8-bit serials interface 75X series and 78K series compatible. (9)CMOS. (10)Single power supply. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of D7225GB have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its power supply voltage would be from -0.3V to 7.0V. (2)Its input voltage would be from -0.3V to Vdd+0.3V. (3)Its output voltage would be from -0.3V to Vdd+0.3V. (4)Its operating ambient temperature range would be from -10°C to 70°C. (5)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of D7225GB are concluded as follow. (1)Its high level input voltage would be min 0.7Vdd and max Vdd. (2)Its low level input voltage would be min 0V and max 0.3Vdd. (3)Its high level output voltage would be min Vdd-0.5V. (4)Its low level output voltage would be max 1.0V. (5)Its output short-circuit current would be max -300uA. (6)Its input leakage current would be max +/-2uA. And so on.
