Description

Description

The GO2922 is a dual channel optical transmitter module designed to transmit optical serial digital signals as defined in SMPTE 297-2006. The GO2922 is specifically designed for robust performance in the presence of SDI pathological patterns for SMPTE 259M, SMPTE 344M, SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 424M serial rates.

The GO2922 contains two independent 1310nm transmitters. Each transmitter is designed to provide error-free transmission of signals from 50Mbps to 3Gbps with up to 30km of single mode fiber (9/125) when using the GO2920 as the receiver. A maximum distance of 10km is achievable under worst case conditions and 3Gbps pathological. The GO2922 is also hot-pluggable.

The GO2922 provides extensive operational status monitoring through an I2C interface. For each transmitter channel, output optical power and bias current are monitored. Other operating conditions such as supply voltage and operating temperature are also monitored. If a parameter monitored is outside the pre-defined range, the alarm flag associated with the parameter will be raised.
