The HD68P01M0-1 is designed as an 8-bit single chip microcomputer unit (MCU) which significantly enhances the capabilities of the HMCS6800 family of parts. HD68P01M0-1 can be used in production systems to allow for easy firmware changes with minimum delay or it can be used to emulate the HD6801 for software development.

HD68P01M0-1 has thirteen features. (1)Expanded HMCS6800 instruction set. (2)8x8 multiply instruction. (3)Serial communication interface SCI. (4)Upward source and object code compatible with HD6800. (5)16-bit three-function programmable timer. (6)Applicable to all type of EPROM. (7)128 bytes of RAM (64 bytes retainable on powerdown). (8)29 parallel I/O and two handshake control line. (9)Internal clock generator with divide-by-four output. (10)Full TTL compatibility. (11)Full interrupt capability. (12)Single chip or expandable to 65k bytes address space. (13)Bus compatible with HMCS6800 family.

Some absolute maximum ratings of HD68P01M0-1 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be from -0.3V to 7.0V. (2)Its input voltage would be from -0.3V to 7.0V. (3)Its operating temperature range would be from 0°C to 70°C. (4)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to 150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of HD68P01M0-1 are concluded as follow. (1)Its input high voltage would be min 4.0V and max Vcc for RES and would be min 2.0V and max Vcc for other pins. (2)Its input low voltage would be min -0.3V and max 0.8V. (3)Its input load current would be max 0.5mA for p40 to p47. (4)Its input leakage current would be max 2.5uA. (5)Its three state offset leakage current would be max 10uA for P10 to P17, P30 to P37 and would be max 100uA for P20 to P24. (6)Its output high voltage would be min 2.4V.
