HFE4226

The HFE4226 is a group of high power LEDs which are designed for use in IEEE 802.3 Ethermet and IEEE 802.5J Token Ring applications such as repeaters, bridges, hubs, rounters, switches and gate ways.The devices are GaAIAs 850 nm LEDs which are designed to efficiently couple optical power into different fiber sizes ranging from 50 to 125 micron to 200/240 micron.

Features of of the HFE4226 are:(1)industry standard ST fiber connector; (2)850 nm GaAIAs LED; (3)fiber dip package style; (4)high relaibility construction; (5)threaded metal barring and housing; (6)wave solderable; (7)metal package provides enhanced durablity and heat dissipation over plastic packages.

The absolute maximum ratings of the HFE4226 can be summarized as:(1): storage temperature is -55 to +85; (2): case solder temperature is -40 to +85; (3): reverse voltage is 1.8 V; (4): continuous forward current(heat sinked) is 100 mA.The electro-optical characteristics of the HFE4226 can be summarized as:(1): fiber coupled power(Poc) is -17.3 dBm min, -13.8 dBm typ and -11.4 dBm max when IF is 100 mA peak 50/125 um fiber, NA is 0.20(peak,Ta is 25); (2): fiber coupled power(Poc) is  -18.8 dBm min,-15.8 dBm typ and -13.8 dBm max when IF is 60 mA peak 50/125 um fiber, NA is 0.20(peak,Ta is 25); (3): forward voltage(VF) is 1.84 V typ when IF is 100 mA; (4): forward voltage temperature is -0.18 mV/ when IF is 100 mA; (5): peak wavelength is 810 nm min, 856 nm typ and 895 nm max when IF is 100 mA DC; (6): spectral bandwidth(FWHM) is 55 nm typ when IF is 100 mA DC; (7): response time is 4.0 ns typ and 6.3 ns max when IF is 60 mA peak , no prebias; (8): series resistance(rs) is 4.0 ohms(DC).
