The ISL6292CCR3Z belongs to ISL6292C, which is an integrated single-cell Li-ion orLi-polymer battery charger capable of operating with an inputvoltage as low as 2.4V. This charger is designed to work withvarious types of ac adapters. The ISL6292CCR3Z operates as a linear charger when the acadapter is a voltage source. The battery is charged in aCC/CV (constant current/constant voltage) profile. The charge current is programmable with an external resistor upto 1.5A. The ISL6292CCR3Z can also work with a current-limitedadapter to minimize the thermal dissipation, in which casethe ISL6292CCR3Z combines the benefits of both a linear chargerand a pulse charger. The ISL6292CCR3Z features charge current thermal foldback toguarantee safe operation when the printed circuit board isspace limited for thermal dissipation. Additional featuresinclude preconditioning of an over-discharged battery,automatic recharge, and thermally enhanced DFN package.
