The ISL6556ACB is designed to control microprocessor core voltage regulation by driving up to 4 synchronous-rectified buck channels in parallel. Multi-phase buck converter architecture uses interleaved timing to multiply channel ripple frequency and reduce input and output ripple currents. Lower ripple results in fewer components, lower component cost, reduced power dissipation, and smaller implementation area.
It has ten features. (1)Precision multi-phase core voltage regulation. (2)Precision rDS(ON) current sensing. (3)Internal shunt regulator for 5V or 12V biasing. (4)Microprocessor voltage identification input. (5)Threshold enable function for precision sequencing. (6)Overcurrent protection. (7)Overvoltage protection. (8)2, 3, or 4 phase operation up to 1.5MHz per phase. (9)QFN package option. (10)Pb-free available (RoHS compliant). Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage Vcc would be 7V. (2)Its input, output or I/O voltage (except OVP) would be from GND-0.3V to Vcc+0.3V. (3)Its OVP voltage would be +15V. (4)Its ESD human body model would be larger than 4kV. (5)Its ESD machine model would be larger than 300V. (6)Its ESD charged device model would be larger than 2kV. (7)Its junction temperature would be 150°C. (8)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (9)Its lead temperature soldering 10s would be 300°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics are concluded as follow. (1)Its nominal supply current would be typ 14mA and max 18mA. (2)Its shutdown supply current would be typ 10mA and max 14mA.
