The LC7480 is a kind of video 6-bit flash type A/D converter implemented in CMOS process technology. It has an internal clamp voltage generation circuit for video component signals (Y, R-Y, and B-Y) and a multiplexer. It include three fucntions: (1)clamp voltage generation circuit (CY, CR and CB); (2)three-input multiplexer; (3)reference voltage source.

There are some features of LC7480 as follows: (1)resolution: 6 bits; (2)nonlinearity error: ±1/2 LSB; (3)maximum conversion rate: 20 MSPS; (4)analog input voltage range: 1 Vpp; (5)digital input/output voltage: CMOS level; (6)single power source: 5±0.5 V; (7)power dissipation: 135 mW (typ); (8)package: DIP24S for LC7480 and MFP24S for LC7480M.

The following is the absolute maximum ratings of LC7480 at Ta=25±2, VSS(=DVSS, AVSS1, AVSS2)=0 V: (1)supply voltage at AVDD, DVDD pins, VDD (=AVDD, DVDD): -0.3 to +7.0 V; (2)I/O pin voltage at I/O pins, VIN, VOUT: -0.3 to VDD+0.3 V; (3)analog reference voltage at VRM, VRB pins, VRM, VRB: -0.3 to VDD+0.3 V; (4)allowable power dissipation at Ta70, Pd max: 300 mW; (5)operating temperature, Topr: -30 to +70; (6)storage temperature range, Tstg: -55 to +125.
