The LT1776CN8 is one member of the LT1776 family which is designed as the wide input range, high efficiency buck (step-down) switching regulator that can be used in (1)automotive DC/DC converters; (2)cellular phone battery charger accessories; (3)IEEE 1394 step-down converters. And this device operates much the same as traditional current mode switchers, the major difference being its specialized output switch section.
Features of the LT1776CN8 are:(1)wide input range: 7.4V to 60V; (2)700mA peak switch rating; (3)adaptive switch drive maintains efficiency at high load without pulse skipping at light load; (4)true current mode control; (5)200kHz fixed operating frequency; (6)synchronizable to 400kHz; (7)low supply current in shutdown: 30mA; (8)available in 8-pin SO and PDIP packages.
