The MAX202CSE is designed as one kind of +5 V-powered, multichannel RS-232 drivers/receiver that can be used in (1)computers, laptops, palmtops, notebooks; (2)battery powered equipment; (3)hand-held equipment. And this device is especially useful in battery-powered systems, since their low-power shutdown mode reduces power dissipation to less than 5W.
