The MC12022TSA is designed as one kind of 1.1GHz low power dual modulus prescaler with on-chip output termination. It can be used with CMOS synthesizers requiring positive edges to trigger internal counters such as Motorola's MC145XXX series in a PLL to provide tuning signals up to 1.1GHz in programmable frequency steps. MC12022TSA is a reduced current drain version of the MC12022A/B with the addition of onchip output termination.
MC12022TSA has seven features. (1)1.1GHz toggle frequency. (2)Supply voltage of 4.5 to 5.5V. (3)Low-power 4.0mA typical. (4)Operating temperature range of would be from -40 to +85°C. (5)Short setup time (tset) would be 16ns maximum at 1.1GHz. (6)Modulus control input level is compatible with standard CMOS and TTL. (7)Output load resistor on die. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of MC12022TSA have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its power supply voltage pin 2 would be from -0.5V to 7V. (2)Its operating temperature range would be from -40°C to 85°C. (3)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of MC12022TSA at Vdd=5V are concluded as follow. (1)Its toggle frequency sine wave input would be min 0.1GHz and typ 1.1GHz and max 1.4GHz. (2)Its supply current would be typ 4.6mA and max 6.5mA. (3)Its modulus control input high MC would be min 2.0V and max Vcc. (4)Its modulus control input low MC would be max 0.8V. (5)Its divide ratio control input high SW would be Vcc. (6)Its divide ratio control input low SW would be open. (7)Its output voltage swing would be min 1.0Vp-p and typ 1.4Vp-p. (8)Its modulus setup time MC to out would be typ 11ns and max 16ns. (9)Its input voltage sensitivity would be min 100mVpp and max 1500mVpp from 250MHz to 1100MHz and it would be min 400mVpp and max 1500mVpp from 100MHz to 250MHz. And so on.
