The MC145481SD is designed as a general purpose per channel PCM codec-filter with pin selectable MuLaw or ALaw companding, and is offered in 20pin SOG and SSOP packages. This device performs the voice digitization and reconstruction as well as the band limiting and smoothing required for PCM systems. This device is designed to operate in both synchronous and asynchronous applications and contains an onchip precision reference voltage.
It has eight features. (1) Single 2.7 to 5.25V power supply. (2) Typical power dissipation of 8mW @ 3 V, power-down of 0.01mW. (3) Fully-differential analog circuit design for lowest noise. (4) Transmit band-pass and receive lowp-ass filters on-chip. (5) Active R-C pre-filtering and post-filtering. (6) Mu-law and A-law companding by pin selection. (7) On-chip precision reference voltage of 0.886V for a - 5dBm TLP @ 600W. (8) Push-pull 300W power drivers with external gain adjust. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its DC supply voltage would be from -0.5V to 6V. (2) Its voltage on any analog input or output pin would be from Vss-0.3V to Vdd+0.3V. (3) Its voltage on any digital input or output pin would be from Vss-0.3V to Vdd+0.3V. (4) Its operating temperature range would be from -40°C to +85°C. (5) Its storage temperature range would be from -85°C to +150°C.
Also some power supply specifications about it. (1) Its DC supply voltage would be min 2.7V and typ 3.0V and max 5.25V. (2) Its active power dissipation (Vdd=3V) would be typ 2.3mA for PI >= Vdd-0.5V and would be typ 2.5mA for PI <= Vdd-1.0V. (3) Its power-down current (VIH for logic levels must be >= Vdd-0.5V) would be typ 0.001mA and max 0.1mA for PDI=Vss and would be typ 0.01mA and max 0.1mA for FST and FSR=Vss, PDI=Vdd. And so on.
