The MC1563/MC1463 is "three terminal" negative regulator designed to deliver continous load current up to 500 mAdc and provide a maximum negative input voltage of -40 Vdc.Output current capability can be increased to greater than 10 Adc through use of one or more external transistors.

Specifications and perfor mance of the MC1563/MC1463 negative voltage regulator are nearly identical to the MC1569/MC1469 positive voltage regulator.For systems requiring both a positive and negative power supply,these devices are excellent for use as complementary regulators and offer the advantage of operating with a common input ground.

The MC1563R/MC1463R case can be mounted directly to a grounded heat sink which eliminates the need for an insulator.The first one is case is at ground potential (R package).The second one is electronic "shutdown" and short-circuit protection.The third one is low output impedance 20 milliohms typical.The fourth one is high power capability 9.0 watts.The fifth one is excellent temperature stability Vo/T =±0.002%/ typical.The sixth one is high ripple rejection 0.002% typical.The seventh one is 500mA current capability.
