Description

The MC3425P1 belongs to MC3425 family which is a power supply supervisory circuit containing all the necessary functions required to monitor over and undervoltage fault conditions. The overvoltage channel of MC3425P1 has a high current Drive Output for use in conjunction with an external SCR Crowbar for shutdown. These integrated circuits contain dedicated over and undervoltage sensing channels with independently programmable time delays. The undervoltage channel input comparator has hysteresis which is externally programmable, and an opencollector output for fault indication.

The features of MC3425P1 can be summarized as (1)dedicated over and undervoltage sensing; (2)programmable hysteresis of undervoltage comparator; (3)internal 2.5 V reference; (4)300 mA overvoltage drive output; (5)30 mA undervoltage indicator output; (6)programmable time delays; (7)4.5 V to 40 V operation.

The absolute maximum ratings of MC3425P1 are (1)power supply voltage VCC: 40 Vdc; (2)comparator input voltage range (Note 1 The input signal voltage should not be allowed to go negative by more than 300 mV or positive by more than 40 V, independent of VCC, without device destruction.) VIR: 0.3 to +40 Vdc; (3)drive output short circuit current IOS(DRV): Internally Limited mA; (4)indicator output voltage VIND: 0 to 40 Vdc; (5)indicator output sink current IIND: 30 mA; (6)power dissipation and thermal characteristics maximum power dissipation @ TA = 70°C thermal resistance, junctiontoair PD/ RJA: 1000mW/ 80°C/W; (7)operating junction temperature: TJ +150 °C; (8)operating ambient temperature range TA: 0 to +70 °C; (9)storage temperature range Tstg: 55 to +150 °C.
