S-4525BA

The S-4525BA is designed as a driver IC for use with a dot matrix LCD (liquid crystal display), and specific for 1/2 to 1/4 bias LCD. It has an 80 family/68 family MPU interface, a display RAM, a CR oscillation circuit, 61 segment driver output, and 16 common driver output. Since it features wide operating voltage range and low power consumption, it is suitable as an LCD driver for portable equipment.

S-4525BA has ten features. (1)Wide operating voltage range: logic power supply voltage is from -2.4V to -7.0V and LCD drive voltage is from -3.5V to -13.0V. (2)Built-in CR oscillation circuit 18KHz. (3)61-segment, 16-common LCD driver circuit. (4)Built-in display RAM (8-bitx61-segmentx4-page). (5)Specific for 1/2 to 1/4 bias LCD. (6)80 family/68 family MPU interface. (7)Duty ratio from 1/16 and 1/32 selectable. (8)100-pin QFP package. (9)Master mode and slave mode selectable. (10)Supply in bare chip is also available. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of S-4525BA have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be from -8.0V to 0.4V. (2)Its LCD drive voltage 1 would be from -14.5V to 0.4V. (3)Its LCD drive voltage 2 would be from V5 to 0.4V. (4)Its input voltage would be from Vss-0.4V to 0.4V. (5)Its output voltage would be from Vss-0.4V to 0.4V. (6)Its power dissipation would be 250mW. (7)Its operating temperature range would be from -30°C to 85°C. (8)Its storage temperatur range would be from -65°C to 150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
