The S-4610A is designed as a CMOS thermal print head driver containing a 64-bit shift register and a latch. It easily drived small heads separately because its driver enable is 32-bitx2. It is ideal for the video printer and the low-voltage-drive thermal print head because of large driver output current and small ON-state resistance.
S-4610A has eight features. (1)Low current consumption 0.4mA typ (fCLK=5MHz, SI: fixed). (2)High speed operation 7MHz chip and 5MHz cascade connection. (3)Driver output voltage is 36V max. (4)Driver output current is 70mA max. (5)64-bit register and latch are built-in. (6)Driver enable. (7)Driver-off function when supply voltage falls. (8)Selectable "H/L" for latch and driver enable. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of S-4610A have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be from -0.4V to 7.0V. (2)Its driver output voltage would be 36V. (3)Its driver output current would be 70mA. (4)Its input voltage would be from Vss0-0.5V to Vdd+0.5V. (5)Its output voltage would be from Vss0-0.5V to Vdd+0.5V. (6)Its max junction temperature would be 125°C. (7)Its operating temperature range would be from -10°C to 80°C. (8)Its storage temperature range would be from -40°C to 125°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of S-4610A are concluded as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be min 4.5V and typ 5.0V and max 5.5V. (2)Its high level input voltage would be min 0.7Vdd and max Vdd. (3)Its low level input voltage would be min Vss and max 0.3Vdd. (4)Its high level output voltage would be min 4.45V.
