The S2559E is designed as a DTMF generator specifically to implement a dual tone telephone dialing system. The device can interface directly to a standard pushbutton.
S2559E has ten features. (1)Wide operating supply voltage range which would be 2.5V to 10V. (2)Low power CMOS circuitry allows device power to be derived directly from the telephone lines or from small batteries, 9V. (3)Uses TV crystal standard 3.58MHz to derive all frequencies thus providing bery high accuracy and stability. (4)Mute drivers on-chip. (5)Interfaces directly to a standard telephone push-button or calculator type X-Y beyboard. (6)The total harmonic distortion is below undustry specification. (7)Its oscillator resistor on chip. (4)Its power dissipation would be 25°C. (5)Its input voltage would be from Vss-0.3V to Vdd+0.3V. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to S2559E.
