Description

This ST7920 dot matrix LCD controlling/driving IC can be used to diaplay the letter and number sign, chinese characters and self-revised segments. It can provide three kinds of controlling interface, 8-byte component microprocessor interface, 4-byte component microprocessor interface, and serial interface. All the functions including RAM display, font generator and LCD driving circuit and controller were all in a single chip. With a small microprocessing system, this LCD controlling/driving IC can operate.

the font ROM of ST7920 consists of 8192 16X16 characters and 126 letter character font with 16X8 half-wide. The additional 64x256 drawing section (GDRAM) and 240 ICON RAM can display with the writing frame, and inside the ST7920, there are 4 groups of software programmable 16X16 coinage function provided by CGRAM.

The ST7920 has a very power consumption (2.7V to 5.5V), which meets the requirement of evergy saving required by battery-operated portable devices.
