VFC42

      VFC42 is hybird microcircuits wich can be connected as voltage-to-frenquency or frequency-to-voltage converters. VFC42 provide a aimple, low coat method of converting analog aignals into an equivalent digital form. The digital output is an open collector which can be made compatible with DTL,TTL, or CMOS logic. The output is a train of constant-ampitude , constant-width pulses whose repetition rate is proportional to the amplitude of the analog input voltage. In the frenquency-to-voltage mode the pulses become the input and the proportional DC voltage , the output. VFC42 is offered in epoxy(-25 to +85) and hermetic metal(-25 to +85 and -55 to +125 ) 14-pin DIP packages.
     VFC42 has six unique features which is as follows : The first one is V/F or F/V conversion. The second one is two frequency range which is 10 KHz. The third one is low nomlinearity which is ±0.01% max.The forth one is minimal external components required (add only one external resistor for V/F operation). The fifth one is 0 decade dynamic range. The sixth one is output OTL/TTL/CMOS compatible.
     There are some specifications about VFC42. Full scale frequency is 10 KHz typ. Analog input(V/F) is 0 V min and 10 V max. Voltage range is 0 V min and +0.25 V max. Input blas current (pin14) inverting input is 6 nA typ and 8 nA max. Input offset voltage(trimmable to zero) is 100 A typ and 200A max. Input impedance(pin1) is 32 K min , 40 K typ and 45 K max. Voltage output range is 0 V to + 10 V when the Io is or below 5 mA.ouput current is +10 mA min when the Vo is or below 7V. Output impedance(closed loop) is 1 max. Capacitive load is 100 P^Fmax. Power supply requirements: Rated supplies are ±15 V typ. Supply range is ±9 V min and ±20 V max. Supply drain (independent of operating frequency) is ±6.5 mA typ and ±7.5 mA max.
