YM6616

The YM6616 is a voice recording and playing back LSI.Using this LSI enables incorporation of record/play function of human voice and innate sounds of the natural world using a comparatively simple circuit.

There are some features of YM6616 as follows.First is adoption of 4-bit ADPCM voice analysis/synthesis method.The second is built-in 12-bit AD/DA converter.Then is interface to DRAM and ROM as external memory.The external memory can be composed of 256k bit*4 pieces or 1M bit*4 pieces for both DRAM and ROM.Next is interface to a 4-bit CPU.The fifth is built-in 2-bit general purpose output port.The sixth is play repeat capability.Besides, 4 types of sampling frequency can be selected by software for the same master clock.The eighth is built-in quartz oscillation circuit.The ninth is low power consumption due to CMOS technology.The tenth is 64 pin QFP package.The last one is +5 V single power supply.
