Resistor Rf, connected between bases of Q1 and Q2, provides negative feedback to make flip-flop less sensitive to voltage variations and transistor unbalance. Will operate on 3.v pulses having 0.5-microsec fall time. Without feedback, higher voltage would be required for triggering.-P.
