Opamp and transistor together provide amplitude modulation of LED in accordance with amplitude variations of microphone output signal. Requires only single 9-V supply. Other three sections of opamp are not used. Designed for dynamic microphone. Q1 is 2N2222 (Radio Shack 276-2009).-F. M.
