Prevents burning of switch or relay contact when switching large inductive loads. Switch contacts here carry only trigger current for silicon controlled rectifiers. If desired, output power can be varied by changing time constant R1-C1 to control scr firing angle. Will switch primary of transformer having 4,200 v-a secondary load.-J. A.
